Teryn Carter

Deriving influences from jazz artists such as Kurt Elling, Carmen McRae, and Sarah Vaughan, Teryn McPherson, also known as Teryn Ré in the music realm, has developed her own unique sound which she enjoys sharing in her teaching and performing. After graduating from Azusa Pacific University with a Commercial Music Emphasis in Arranging, she continues to arrange and perform regularly in the Los Angeles and Orange County areas with her band, the Teryn Ré Big Band and other small ensembles. She performs regularly in jazz clubs such as The Baked Potato, Birds & Bees, and more. Arrangements and original charts are regularly commissioned for the Azusa Pacific University Jazz Ensemble, the Citrus College Blue Note Orchestra, as well as the Saddleback College Big Band. She is adjunct at multiple colleges such as Irvine Valley College, Azusa Pacific University, Fullerton College, and Saddleback College.
