Fullerton College Symphony Orchestra

The Fullerton College Symphony is a full orchestral ensemble comprised of Strings, Winds, Brass, and Percussion. The orchestra is comprised of undergraduate music majors and non-music majors who perform at a high level. The FC Symphony performs 4 - 5 times over the Fall and Spring semesters and presents the standard orchestral literature to a variety of audiences, including college, high school, and the surrounding communities. Entrance into the FC Symphony is based on audition and at the sole discretion of the Music Director. The required audition material is comprised of the following:

Strings:

  1. 3-octave major and minor scales
  2. 1st or 3rd Movement of a major solo concerto
  3. Sight-reading orchestral excerpt

Winds/Brass/Percussion:

  1. 2-octave major or minor scales
  2. Solo piece of choice
  3. Sight-reading orchestral excerpt

Accepted participants in the FC Symphony are required to register for the class. Information is provided below:

MUS 271 - Fullerton College Symphony

The orchestra meets for rehearsals on Thursdays from 7pm to 9:50pm. Concerts may be on different days of the week, depending on concert venue availability. Course may be taken up to 4 times for credit.
