Jerry Garvin has been a member of the faculty at Fullerton College since 1990, where he has been an Instructor of Applied Horn, Brass Ensembles, Music Fundamentals and Music Theory, as well as classes in Musical Theatre and Vocal Styling Techniques. He also currently leads the Concert Hour Class for all Applied Music students, which offers an excellent recital performance opportunity for not only faculty and student musicians in the department, but outside of the college as well. Jerry also directs the 20-piece Fullerton College Brass Choir, the French Horn Club, the Olympus Brass Quintet and the Barbershop Brass Singers (his students call themselves "Jerry's Kidz").
A graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Jerry is an active freelance vocalist and pianist as well as a hornist, and teaches privately at his Anaheim music studio. As a vocalist/pianist, his name has been on the marquee of the Anaheim Hilton & Towers for over 22 years as the headlining entertainer in the Pavia supper club, and he also performs at the exclusive California Club in downtown Los Angeles. As a hornist, Jerry has performed with the N.H. Symphony, the American Wind Symphony, the Artisan Brass Quintet, the Wayward Wind Quintet and the Disneyland All-Americans to name a few, and has performed in or musically-directed numerous musical theatre productions on both coasts. He is an active clinician in the above areas.
Jerry feels very fortunate to be associated with the fine musicians, instructors, staff and students of Fullerton College.
